Vietnam – New 6GHz WLAN Regulation Announced

Back

Vietnam has officially released a significant 6GHz WLAN regulation, setting a new national technical standard for radio access equipment operating in the 6 GHz band. With the issuance of Circular 41/2025/TT-BKHCN on November 13, 2025, this update replaces the previously applicable QCVN 47:2015/BTTTT for affected devices, bringing clarity to a previously ambiguous regulatory environment.

New QCVN for 6GHz Devices

The newly promulgated QCVN xxx:2025/BKHCN specifically governs WLAN devices operating in the 6GHz band (HS code 8517.62.51), including access points, routers, and client devices. Effective from January 1, 2027, it replaces QCVN 47:2015/BTTTT for these product types.

Technical Requirements and Spectrum Use

This regulation defines detailed RF parameters such as:

The technical structure mirrors IEEE 802.11ax, ETSI EN 303 687, and EU harmonized standards for the 6GHz spectrum.
