On 30th Dec 2022, The Ministry of Science and Technology promulgated Circular No. 18/2022/TT-BKHCN on displaying goods’ labels by electronic means (e-label).
1) Content is shown by e-label:
– Manufacturing year; Technical specifications; Warnings; User Manual, Storage manual
– Other mandatory contents that have been displayed physically can be displayed electronically.
2) Displaying methods: on the website displayed on the label attached to the product; scanning code, QR code, on the product’s display (for a product that has a display/screen)
– Website containing e-label must follow the e-commerce regulations;
– The manufacturers must provide the contents of the e-label to the competent authority within 24 hours upon request. Otherwise, it will be considered as no labeling.
– Information on the e-label must be stored 2 years after the product expiry date.
3) This Circular takes effect from February 15, 2023
