USA: Unlicensed Use of the 6 GHz Band

Entirety reports on January 9, 2019, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) released a document proposing to expand the unlicensed use of the 6 GHz band (specifically 5.925-7.7125 GHz) at the same time that protects the licensed services that work in this same frequency. The objective of the rule is to permit unlicensed client devices to operate under the control of an access point through the 6 GHz band.

The FCC plans to receive comments up to February 5, 2019, replies will be made up to March 18, 2019.
