SDoC is an authorization procedure of the FCC to ensure compliance with the appropriate technical standards for the equipment that does not contain a radio transmitter and contains only digital circuitry, introduces a new guide.
-Equipment that does not contain a radio transmitter and contains only digital circuitry is subject to approval using the SDoC procedure
-Equipment that contains both unintentional radiators and intentional radiators can have both SDoC (for an unintentional portion) and Certification (for intentional radiators)
-The responsible for the compliance of the equipment must maintain a United States presence and it could be the manufacturer, the assembler, or the importer
-The equipment that can be authorized by SDoC doesn’t need to perform testing, even so, if the equipment is tested it doesn’t need to be submitted to FCC
-Devices subject to authorization under SDoC can be labeled with the following FCC logo on a voluntary basis
Technology impacted:
Equipment that does not contain a radio transmitter and contains only digital circuitry – such as computer peripherals, microwave ovens, ISM equipment, switching power supplies, LED light bulbs, radio receivers, and TV interface devices
