USA: FCC Adopts New Rules for The 6GHz Band

Back

On April 23rd, 2020, The FCC adopted rules that make the 6GHz band available for unlicensed use. With this decision, the adoption of Wi-Fi 6 will be accessible and also will have a great impact on the Internet of Things. The present decision authorizes indoor low-power devices in the frequency range of 5.925-7.125 GHz and for standard devices 850 MHz in the 6GHz, an automated coordination system will prevent that Standard Power Access Points cause interference on incumbent services as incumbent services.
