On June 18, 2015, a group of Senators, reintroduced the Wireless Innovation Act to free up spectrum for wireless broadband, including in the 5GHz band, trying to keep U.S leading the world in wireless innovation and technology. The Senators are very committed to continue with the innovation and American leadership in mobile broadband by making sure the government uses the spectrum in an efficient and responsible way and freeing up additional spectrum for commercial demand.
Creating a spectrum pipeline and encouraging more efficiency among federal spectrum users, this forward-looking legislation wants to maximize the spectrum use by expanding the deployment of wireless networks and services, so everyone can benefit from next-generation technologies.
