The FCC Office of Engineering and Technology (OET) publishes equipment authorization procedures and measurement guidance in the form of FCC Public Notices and Knowledge Database (KDB) publications. The KDB is intended to assist the public in following Commission requirements and does not constitute rules. Accordingly, the guidance is not binding on the Commission and will not prevent the Commission from making a different decision.
The following drafts are updates by the KDB Publications:
1). Publication 996369 – Modular transmitters. Concerning guidance for authorizations of transmitter modules and equipment that incorporates the following: 996369 D03 OEM Manual.Guidance for instructions provided to host manufacturer.

2). Publication 388624 – Pre-Approval guidance (PAG)
This document provides guidance on the Pre-Approval Guidance (PAG) procedures (Section 2.964) formerly known as the Permit But Ask (PBA) procedure. The attachment 388624 D02 Pre-Approval Guidance List v16r04 provides a list of the RF devices that are subject to the Pre-Approval Guidance procedure and the attachment 388624 D01 Pre-Approval Guidance Procedure v11r01 provides the Pre-Approval Guidance procedures.
