UNITED STATES: Commission Addresses Several Petitions for Wireless Microphones

Back

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) of the United States published a final rule during September of 2017 addressing several petitions for wireless microphones. “The Commission has made technical revisions to the spurious emission limits that it had adopted for licensed wireless microphone operations in several frequency bands, and for unlicensed wireless operations in the TV bands in the 600 MHz guard band and duplex gap.” It has also been clarified that output power measurements as well as certain antenna-relate part 15 rules applies to unlicensed wireless microphones. This new rule placed to accommodate wireless microphone users’ needs due to the incentive auction and reconfiguration of the TV bands.

Effective date: October 2, 2017.
