Fourth generation telecommunications services (4G) will be introduced in Turkey in early 2015, stated Süreyya Ciliv, CEO of the country’s leading GSM operator Turkcell, saying that increasing mobile Internet traffic in recent years in Turkey must be matched by an improvement in technology.

It has been five years since a 3G connection was first available in Turkey and that since then, data traffic has increased 200 times. mobile data traffic has been increasing by 100 percent each year and 4G will be introduced at the beginning of 2015 in order to manage the volume of mobile traffic. He also said that work for 5G has started globally and that Turkcell is participating in the project.
