Back

Entirety reports on January 25, 2019, Telecommunications Authority of Trinidad and Tobago (TATT) issued the Authorization Framework for the Accommodation of WSD (White Space Devices) outlining objectives as the identification of frequency bands that can accommodate WSD, rules of operation of WSD in the island and the regulatory framework for licensing WSD.

The portions of TV broadcasting to be used are the following bands: 54-72 MHz, 76-88 MHz and 470-698 MHz in ITU-R region 2. With the purpose to protect incumbent service providers, only fixed WSD will be allowed with the following capabilities: the ability to query geolocation databases and the ability to connect to internet using a medium, other than the white space it is trying to access in order to communicate with geolocation databases.
