TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO: Equipment Standardization and Certification Framework for Telecommunications and Broadcasting Sectors

Back

The Telecommunications Authority of Trinidad and Tobago released on June 15th, 2023 a consultative document for the second of two rounds of public consultation.

The purpose of this document, Equipment Standardisation and Certification Framework for the Telecommunications and Broadcasting Sectors (the Framework), is to increase the effectiveness

of the processes for equipment standardization and certification for telecommunications and broadcasting by updating these processes and their requirements and providing critical partnerships with local, regional, and international stakeholders.

This Framework presents the approach and processes to certify radiocommunications, telecommunications and broadcasting equipment, and other devices. It outlines the guidelines, forms, and requirements for submissions by applicants for certification, including manufacturers, their representatives, and commercial distributors.

The processes, guidelines, and requirements are based on standards established or recognized by the Authority: technological developments; the desire to promote local and regional innovation;  and the need to ensure safe operations amongst multiple users.

The consultation will be open for comments until July 14th, 2023.

Comments must be made on the Public Consultation Comment Submission Form and submitted to consultation@tatt.org.tt or to TATT’s business locations.
