On November 1st, 2022, The Telecommunications Authority of Trinidad & Tobago (TATT) opened a consultation named “Equipment Standardisation and Certification Framework for the Telecommunications and Broadcasting Sectors”. It aims to remedy shortcomings of the existing framework for equipment standardization and certification for telecommunications and broadcasting equipment by modernizing the general processes and requirements.
Some key topics opened in this consultation are the consideration of RF modules or subassemblies certification, the change of the validity of the certificate from permanent to 5 years, and the introduction of regulator fees for processing and evaluating the applications.
The consultation will be open for comments until November 30th, 2022.
Comments must be made on the Public Consultation Comment Submission Form and submitted to consultation@tatt.org.tt or to TATT’s business locations.
