TAIWAN: NCC Approves Tech Specs for IoT Devices

Back

The National Telecommunications Commission (NCC) considered and approved the revision of the “Low Power RF Technical Specifications” and the “Technical Specifications for Narrowband Terminal Equipment for Broadband Mobile Broadband Services” to provide low-power long-distance Internet of Things (IoT) Device testing requirements.

The technical laws and regulations of wireless transmission via low-power long-distance IoT will be completed in a timely manner to drive the vigorous development of China’s IoT industry.

In order to extend IoT coverage, the NCC, uses the IoT band in accordance with the ROC’s frequency allocation plan, to make it clear that the recently established LoRa, SigFox and LTE -M1, NB-IoT and other low-power long-distance IoT or terminal equipment should be tested to ensure that radio wave order, and related devices or equipment meet quality control.
