TAIWAN: 6 IT/AV Products to Require Inspection for Restricted Substances

The Bureau of Standards, Metrology and Inspection (BSMI) of Taiwan released a report with a proposal to require inspection of restricted substance through legal inspection for 6 kinds of IT/AV products. “In order to encourage industries to reduce the using of the restricted chemical substances in electrical and electronic equipments and to control the restricted chemical substance in each stage of the supply chain and life cycle of electrical and electronic equipments.”



The 6 products include:



1. Automatic data processing machines

2. Printers

3. Photo-copying machines

4. Televisions

5. Monitors

6. Monitors used in an automatic data processing
