The Syrian Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (SyTRA) has announced an update to its regulations concerning Wireless Local Area Networks (WLAN). Effective immediately, the 6 GHz band, specifically the 5925–6425 MHz frequency range, is now authorized for WLAN use.
This new regulation limits the maximum allowable transmission power to 23 dBm and is restricted to indoor use only. The decision aligns with global trends aimed at enhancing wireless connectivity and improving network performance by leveraging unlicensed spectrum in the 6 GHz band. This regulatory update is expected to support the growing demand for high-speed wireless communication in Syria.
