The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) conducted a hearing in early September at its Head Office in Sandton on the draft IMT850 Radio Frequency Spectrum Assignment Plan (RFSAP) for the frequency bands 825 MHz to 830 MHz and 870 MHz to 875 MHz. The band 825 MHZ will increase to 830 MHZ, and the 870 MHZ to 875 MHZ. The idea behind these upcoming changes are related to improving large electronic communication services, broadband mobile services and also frequency network within the country. Thanks to this new draft, any telecom operator should move to the new version by doing the migration in order to align with the different processes.
