SOMALIA: New Telecom Law to Protect Operators and Consumers

According to the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunication and Technology, President Mohamed signed on October 1st, 2017, the Somalia National Communication Act. According to this new law, it was passed in order to “establish the legal, regulatory and institutional frameworks for the country’s thriving telecoms sector.” in order to provide better protection to the rights of operators and consumers while reducing cybercrime.
