On January 18th, the Ministry of Communications and Information (MCI) of Singapore announced on it’s website that on the second half of 2016, they will create the Info-communications Media Development Authority of Singapore (IMDA) and the Government Technology Organization (GTO). The new agencies will arise from the merge of the Info-communications Development Authority (IDA) and the Media Development Authority (MDA), and the objective of the IMDA will be to converge info-comm and media sectors in a holistic way, and the GTO will lead the digital transformation in the public sector.
