SINGAPORE: MCI Announces IMDA as New Telecommunications Authority for the Country

Back

As Entirety previously stated earlier this year, the Ministry of Communications and Information of Singapore (MCI) had announced the creation of the Info-Communications Media Development Authority of Singapore (IMDA) with merger of the Info-Communications Development Authority (IDA) and the Media Development Authority (MDA). On September 30, 2016, the IMDA was officially launched with an objective to lead Singapore forward into the digital future. The new authority is now in charge of all the telecommunications issues in the country, and the Minister has announced changes in the telecommunications act. However, for now everything remains the same.
