SINGAPORE: IMDA New Label Requirement to Affect Any Product Registered Before October 1st 2016

As Entirety previously informed on October 4, 2016, Singapore’s new Info-Communications Media Development Authority of Singapore (IMDA) was created merging the former IDA and MDA authorities. Regarding the label requirements in the country, this change affects the products registered or renewed after October 1, 2016, with IMDA. Products must have the updated label which highlights their new requirements no later than September 30, 2017. The new regulation offers two alternatives in order to relabel the equipment:

  1. The licensee may use an electronic compliance label, providing indications to display that label.
  2. The licensee have to affix a compliance label on the equipment or in the instruction manual with the following format: Label Size 17mm by 9mm. Complies With IMDA Standards [Dealer’s Licence No.]                                                                                                                                    I
