SINGAPORE: IDA Announced a Spectrum Auction of 235 MHz for Mobile Services

On February 18, 2016, through a press release on its website, the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA) announced a spectrum auction for the second semester of 2016. IDA will auction 235 MHz of spectrum for Mobile Service between the existing Mobile Network Operators in the country, and 60 MHz of spectrum for a new operator in the 900 MHz and 2300 GHz bands. According with the authority, this auction will increase competition in the market allowing the companies to develop networks for the 3G, 4G and 5G technologies services.
