SINGAPORE: Enterprise Singapore Updates Safety Mark

Back

On April 6, 2018, an administration of consumer protection circular was published by Enterprise Singapore to all registered suppliers in order to inform suppliers about the merger between SPRING Singapore and International Enterprise to form Enterprise Singapore, the new Safety Authority of Singapore. The main objective of the circular is to go over the registration and usage of the latest Safety Mark specifically for Controlled Goods registered before and after April 2, 2018. Already registered Controlled Goods in Singapore will receive a one-year implementation grace period, making the deadline April 2, 2019; furthermore, any submissions or renewals registrations after the deadline date will not be accepted by Enterprise Singapore unless it complies with the updated Safety Mark. After April 2, 2018, registered suppliers are to affix Controlled Goods with the updated SAFETY Mark. Any registered suppliers under CPSR must ensure controlled goods are tested to safety standards, certified, and must be registered with Enterprise Singapore prior to supply, or sale in Singapore.
