After reviewing the Authority’s Board of Directors’ Decision No. (09/180/2021) in its meeting No. (179) held on 15/06/1442 AH, regarding the adoption of a number of technical regulations, including the “Technical Regulations for Reducing Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Devices and Equipment”, published in the Official Gazette on 09/07/2021 CE, which is scheduled to enter into force on 01/05/2022 CE.
Referring to the meeting of the Conformity Steering Committee No. (17-21) held on 12/05/2021 AD, and after studying the requests of the private sector and international organizations to consider postponing the application of the ROHS technical regulation to correct their situation in accordance with the requirements of the regulation.
The authority decided to postpone the application of the ROHS technical regulation for a period of six months, after which the application will be carried out in stages according to the table below:
