The Communication, Space, and Technology Commission (CST) has released its strategic roadmap for the utilization of the 5.9 GHz Band in the development of Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) Systems. The roadmap is comprehensive in its scope, encompassing a thorough analysis of various V2X applications and communication types, along with key advancements in these areas. Additionally, it incorporates an examination of regulatory practices adopted by different countries and incorporates feedback gathered from public consultations. A notable focus of the CST’s approach is the promotion of Cellular V2X (C-V2X) technology due to its advanced capabilities and seamless integration with existing 4G and 5G networks, offering a robust foundation for these systems.
This strategic roadmap complements the implementation of the Spectrum Outlook for Commercial and Innovative Use spanning from 2021 to 2023. Furthermore, it aligns seamlessly with the National Spectrum Strategy 2025.
