SAUDI ARABIA: Country Placed Second in the Allocation of Frequency Bands for the Provision of Mobile Telecom Services

The Kingdom ranked second in the list of G20 countries for the total allocation of global frequency bands for the provision of mobile telecommunications services by the end of the second quarter of this year, according to the reports and statistics of the allocation of the countries of the group to the frequency bands.

Following the Kingdom’s implementation of the National Frequency Spectrum Plan to support the expansion of the new generation of telecommunications and information technology services, and to support digital transformation plans through the National Transition Program 2020, which aimed to raise spectrum allocations for the provision of mobile telecommunications services and to develop integrated plans to prioritize the vacancy, redeployment and allocation of frequency bands in a way that would improve the quality and speed of mobile Internet services in the Kingdom.
