SAUDI ARABIA: CITC Requests Public Comments on Regulatory Framework Draft for Cybersecurity

The Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) invites the public to view and submit their views on the “Regulatory Framework for Cybersecurity for the ICT Sector”. As part of the TRA’s efforts to regulate and manage cybersecurity in the sector, to reduce the risks to communications and information technology as an important part of the vital infrastructure in the Kingdom and a cornerstone of economic growth.

 The document is designed to protect the public interest and the interests of users, maintain confidentiality and security of information, meet the highest standards of quality and security, increase the maturity of cybersecurity in the ICT sector and encourage the industry to apply best practices to cybersecurity measures.

The Commission also noted that this document is an extension of the efforts exerted to enhance cybersecurity in the ICT sector in the Kingdom, including the efforts of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, which recently announced the request for public comments on the digital security policies for the ICT sector, as well as the efforts of the National Cybersecurity Authority .

The Commission urged the Parties concerned to provide all views and observations related to this document by responding to specific questions, in a detailed and substantiated manner, based on the measurement of the current situation, or relevant international experiences and studies.
