On June 7, 2017, The National Telecommunication Commission (NTC) of Philippines amended section 2 of the Memorandum Circular No. 03-05-2007 . The circular was implemented to ensure the public is able to stay on top of the rapid development wireless technology is currently undergoing. NTC’s plan to combat this growth is to widen the access to the limited radio spectrum and the use of cost effective technology by amending types of short-range devices (SRD).
