On May 18th, 2023 MTC (Ministry of Transport and Communications) published the Ministerial Resolution N° 0597-2023-MTC/01.03 approving the updated National Frequency Allocation Plan.
This PNAF includes the necessary frequency bands for the development of mobile technologies such as 4G and 5G, high-altitude platforms (HAPS), use of television white spaces (TVWS), improving wireless coverage in the home (WiFi -6E) and much more.
In general, it contains relevant information for the management of the radio-electric spectrum, such as the frequency allocation charts of the different telecommunications services; ensuring operability and minimizing the probability of harmful interference and the coexistence of services within the same frequency band, effectively contributing to the objectives of having an efficient use of the spectrum and thus promoting digital inclusion in Peru;
That said document revokes the Ministerial Resolution No. 187-2005-MTC/03 that approves the previous National Plan and its amendments, except for the following provisions, which remain in force:
1. Articles 1, 4 and the Annex (Operation conditions of the services whose equipment uses the bands 470-698 MHz, 915-928 MHz, 916-928 MHz, 2 400 – 2 483, 5 MHz, 5 150 – 5 250 MHz, 5 250 – 5 350 MHz, 5 470 – 5 725 MHz, 5 725 – 5 850 MHz and 5 925 – 7 125 MHz and its Annexes
I, II, and III) of Ministerial Resolution No. 777-2005-MTC- 03, and its amendments.
2. Articles 2, 3, and 6 of Ministerial Resolution No. 094-2007-MTC-03.
3. Articles 3, 4, 5, and 6 of Ministerial Resolution No. 476-2007-MTC-03.
4. Articles 2 and 3 of Ministerial Resolution No. 377-2008-MTC-03.
5. Articles 4 and 5 of Ministerial Resolution No. 320-2010-MTC-03.
6. Article 4 and the Only Final Complementary Provision of Ministerial Resolution No. 324-2011-MTC-03.
7. The Only Final Complementary Provision of Ministerial Resolution No. 687-2018-MTC-01.03 and its amendment, carried out by Ministerial Resolution No. 0709-2020-MTC-01.03.
8. Article 3 of Ministerial Resolution No. 157-2019-MTC-01.03.
9. The Sole Modifying Complementary Provision, as well as the First and Second Transitory Complementary Provision of Ministerial Resolution No. 757-2019-MTC-01.03.
