PERU: MTC Modifies the National Frequency Attribution Plan

The Minister of Transport and Communications from Peru (MTC), published in the Official Gazette “El Peruano” the Ministerial Resolution No. 687-2018-MTC / 01.03 that modifies the National Frequency Attribution Plan approved by Resolution No. 187-2005-MTC / 03.

The new norm establishes that the allocation of frequency bands that are outside the province of Lima and the Constitutional Province of Calla that is required for the provision of public telecommunications services will be carried out through public tender.

Lastly, this document optimizes the use of the frequency bands, by the rearrangement of the bands 452.5 – 457.5 MHz and 462.5 – 467.5 MHz; 806-821 MHz and 851-866 MHz; 821-824 MHz and 866-869 MHz; 2 500 – 2 692 MHz; 2 300-2 400 MHz; and 3 400 – 3 600 MHz; declared from now on for the provision of services linked to more advanced mobile technologies (IMT). In this sense, any type of modification of the rights of use of the radioelectric resource is restricted from the beginning to the end of the process.
