Paraguay’s Conatel has published an update to the National Frequency plan in the form of “Resolición Directorio Nºo 1752/2024”.
This change has the objective of including 8 channels with 50MHz of Bandwidth on TDD mode for the 3300MHz to 3700MHz band. The update will allow the harmonization with international standards (ITU-R, 3GPP, CITEL) as well as Mercosul and America Region 2.
The main changes are described below:
- The frequency band from 3,300 to 3,400 MHz is intended for mobile networks on a primary basis and will be used for IMT Systems. Cellular Mobile Telephony Systems and Internet Access and Data Transmission Systems.
- The 3,400 to 3,700 MHz frequency band is intended for fixed service on a primary basis (fixed point-to-point systems or fixed point-to-multipoint systems) and may be used to provide Internet Access and Data Transmission Services until the deadline established by CONATEL, after which the fixed systems will cease to operate.
- The 3,600 to 3,700 MHz frequency band is also destined for the fixed satellite service on a primary basis, until the deadline established by CONATEL. Thereafter, satellite systems using this band must cease operation.
- After the deadline, the 3,400 to 3,700 MHz frequency band will be destined for mobile service on a primary basis and will be used for IMT Systems, Cellular Mobile Telephony Systems and Internet Access and Data Transmission Systems.
- The 3.300 to 3.700 MHz frequency band will be used by the mobile service according to the following provisions:
Mobile-to-base and base-to-mobile transmission (TDD): 3,300 – 3,700 MHz With 8 channels of 50 MHz bandwidth (8×50 MHz) Channelization:
Sub band A: 3.300 – 3.350 MHz (50MHz)
Sub band B: 3.350 – 3.400 MHz (50MHz)
Sub band C: 3.400 – 3.450 MHz (50MHz)
Sub band D: 3.450 – 3.500 MHz (50MHz)
Sub band E: 3.500 – 3.550 MHz (50MHz)
Sub band F: 3.550 – 3.600 MHz (50MHz)
Sub band G: 3.600 – 3.650 MHz (50MHz)
Sub band H: 3.650 – 3.700 MHz (50MHz)
