PARAGUAY: CONATEL Publishes Resolutions 1597/2016 and 1762/2016 for Telecommunication Equipment and Devices

On September and October 2016, The National Telecommunications Commission (CONATEL) published on the official gazette, Resolutions 1597/2016 and 1762/2016 with a National Technical Specification set to evaluate Electromagnetic Compatibility for the certification and homologation of telecommunication equipment and devices.

From Resolution 1597/2016 comes the Technical Specification NTC-T-EMC.EMI:2016 which defines the requirements for emissions and electromagnetic disturbances to verify that products cannot cause harmful interference with other electrical or electronic equipment.

The other Resolution, 1762/2016 contains the Technical Specification NTC-T-EMC.EMS:2016 to establish basic and general requirements for electromagnetic interference immunity tests, electrostatic discharges and power failures and interruptions of telecommunication equipment and devices in order to verify that these work as planned.
