PANAMA: ASEP Published the Public Consultation No. 006-16

The National Authority of Public Services (ASEP) released on July 4th the public consultation No. 006-16 asking interested parties for comments about the proposal to amend the National Frequency Allocation Plan (NFAP). This consists of three topics:

1. Modify  Article 11 “licensed bands” allowing also the use of the 5470-5725 MHz, 24.05-24.25 GHz and 57-66GHz, for WLANs devices for fixed wireless access.

2. The redefining of the term “license free bands”, the short range devices applications, and the update of their maximum limits for eirp.

3.  Modify the rules established in section 12.3 called “Wireless Voice Intercom Equipment ” to define under the concept of “Radio Frequencies for Itinerant Use”; incorporating new frequencies or channels for this type of use, and reorganize it within Article 12.

Comments will be received until July 18, 2016.
