NEW ZEALAND: RSM Publish Amendment in Public Information Brochure (PIB) for Mobile Service Bands

On July 2, 2018, the Radio Spectrum Management (RSM) of New Zealand published issue 9, Mobile Service Bands in New Zealand, on the Public Information Brochure (PIB) in order to provide clarification to July’s amendment and have the PIB serve as a “convenient reference of the bands used in VHF and UHF mobile services.” The PIB gives “details of frequencies, channels and band plans for land mobile, VHF maritime mobile, aeronautical mobile and other mobile services.”

RSM announced the following amendment during July:

– Removal of Radio Reporter usage designation for some channels in the ENX band.
– The bringing into general use of DNX channels 1 – 4 where they had been previously unavailable.
– Removal of 25 kHz simplex channels in the CX and DX bands and DNX72 now available for general use.
– Amendments to the Maritime VHF and UHF bands, to reflect WRC-12 and WRC-15 changes.
– Amendments to various ARX and ACX channels for oil spill and CFZ use.
– Removal of DN161 – DN166 and DNN321 – DNN332 for DGPS GURL use. Addition of CNX74 – CNX76 for Itinerant DGPS use.
– Addition of Aeronautical (OR) data channel band plan
– Designation of ENX23 for Forestry Industry use, ENX24 as a “Forestry Road Control”, and ENX40 for mobile crane control.
– Designation of FNX226 for Remote Firing of Explosives
– Addition of E band 6.25 kHz channels for digital land mobile
