NEPAL: NTA Releases 2016 Type Approval Procedure Document

The Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA) published on its website the “Type Approval Working Procedure for Customer Premises Radio Telecommunication Equipment-2016” document, which specifies all type approval procedures for its country. This document highlights who could ask for the certificate, which equipment has to be approved, labeling requirements and technical specifications. it is important to note that NTA approves the following equipment:

A) Customer site Terminals that connect to public switched Network

i) GSM/IMT-2000/ IMT Advanced
ii) CDMA
iii) GMPCS
iv) Other telecom devices used to connect to mobile or PSTN network

B) Low Power Devices (LPDs) or Short Range Devices (SRDs) WLAN – WiFi, Bluetooth, and other 802.11x standards devices having 4W (max. EIRP) & 1W Max. Transmitter output power, Frequency bands: 2.4GHz, 5.1GHz and 5.8GHz.
