The Communications Regulatory Authority of Namibia (CRAN), has published the latest version for equipment that are subject to Type Approval. In their document, they address the scope of the scheme, the exempted and prohibited equipment and provide the list of forms that must be completed prior to submission.

Also, following the schedules proposed in their regulations, CRAN has amended the parts setting out fees for:

The authority presents a thorough breakdown of the costs and expenses in order to explain the increases of the license and type approval fees.

To make fees fair and match costs, administrative fixed fees need a 2.5% increase, less than recent inflation. Fixed and mobile fees depend on a formula and may be reduced by 25% to 33% and point-to-point and point-to-multipoint fees may decrease by 13% to 15%, both of them based on spectrum held by the respective licensees. VSAT fees now follow mobile and fixed spectrum formulas, resulting in a 17% to 20% reduction for certain spectrum types. High-demand spectrum below 1 GHz gets special consideration. Millimeter Wave spectrum for 5G follows a first-come-first-serve basis. No new auctions are considered, and any adjustments will happen in the future. These changes aim to help all licensees.
