As ENTIRETY has previously informed, the European Commission (EC) published two new regulations regarding LVD and EMC. These regulations, the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU and the Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive 2014/30/UE are the bases upon which the Moroccan Ministry of Industry, Trade, Investment and the Digital Economy (MCINET) created
Decree # 2574-14 (EMC) and Decree # 2573-14 (LVD) both from July 16th 2015, and that will come into force on April 12th, 2016.
Decree # 2574-14 (EMC) establishes specific technical regulations for electromagnetic compatibility of equipment, excluding wireless and telecommunications terminals and other types of equipment, and Decree # 2573-14 (LVD) stipulates technical regulations for electrical material destined to be employed at a nominal tension between 50 – 1000 volts for AC, and 75-1500 for DC. For the conformity evaluation process both decrees require a Declaration of Conformity (accepted initially in Arab, but also in French), among other technical documentation.
