The Federal Institute of Telecommunications (IFT) has just published the “Draft Guidelines for the use of the IFT Seal on products intended for telecommunications or broadcasting.” The main goals are to add a recognizable graphic element to the labeling and specify how the seal should be used. This consultation will be available until October 2nd, 2023.

- Purpose: Provide an easily recognizable graphic element for product marking.
- Obligation: Include IFT Seal in marking or labeling of approved products.
- Marking Requirements: IFT Seal must be printed in 100% positive/negative black.
- Prohibitions: Not allowed without valid Approval Certificate or for other purposes.
- Verification: IFT Compliance Unit will monitor adherence to guidelines.
- Effective Date: 180 days after publication in Official Gazette.
- Exemptions: Products already covered by existing homologation guidelines and products exclusively intended for export.
With this public consultation, IFT aims to gather feedback to improve the proposal and understand its potential impact before implementation.
