As Entirety had previously informed, the technical disposition IFT-008-2015, which will replace the NOM-121-SCT1-2009, will come into force tomorrow October 20th. The disposition was approved by the IFT and it was only waiting for the final step, in order for it to be official, which was to be published in the “Diario Oficial de la Federación” (DOF). Today, October 19, 2015, this final step has been accomplished and now the IFT-008-2015 will replace the NOM-121-SCT1-2009 starting tomorrow. The technical disposition will modify some of test methods trying to harmonize them with the United States and Canada rules. In the IFT-008-2015, the testing methods take into account new technologies with multiple antennas and input/outputs, and the testing methods for devices with a medium or low work-cycle were adjusted to be more flexible. Under the IFT-008-2015 regulation, products with certification will have to show the certificate number, model and brand in each unit, but now this label could be electronic. The agreement and conformity certificates issued with the NOM-121-SCT1-2009 will keep their validity until the indicated term.
