MEXICO: Starting June 2019, NOM Certificates Requested at Customs with HS Codes

Back

We inform you that, derived from the new compliance scheme, starting June 3rd, 2019, you will not be able to send to Mexico any products without the NOM certificates at the point of entry. The certificates should list the HS Codes, otherwise they will not be validated in the Customs Standards System and, therefore, will not be able to carry out their imports.

Therefore, the manufacturers or importers should update the certificates to include the hs codes on them.

For pieces, parts, and components, a certificate of compliance with a safety NOM of a final product may cover the pieces, parts or components of that same device, if all pieces, parts or components are listed on the certificate, along with their corresponding HS Codes.
