Back

On August 26th 2016, the Mexican Secretariat of Economy published in the Federation Official Diary (DOF) an agreement that modifies the way the secretariat issues general character rules and criteria regarding foreign trade. The objective of the agreement is to announce the rules that establish the necessary dispositions for the accomplishment of the laws, agreements and international commercial trades, in a way that facilitates its application. The new modification will update the Annex 2.4.1 table of agreement, which contains a summarized description of the products and the Mexican NOM’s that covers them. The new agreement modifies the Annex in order to include references to the NOM-EM-016-SCFI-2015, remove references to the NOM-EM-015-SCFI-2015 and replace references to the NOM-003-SCFI-2000 with references to the NOM-003-SCFI-2014. There is a high importance in these updates since the Annex is the reference for authorities and importers in terms of legal requirements for products to be Imported in Mexico.
