MEXICO: Official Letter No. 414.2019.2459 For NOMs Contingency Period At Customs

Back

The DGN has published on July 10th, the Official letter no. 414.2019.2459, which states that imports of merchandise subject to compliance may be carried out of NOMs at the point of entry into the country without carrying out the electronic transmission (SAT system) referred to the numeral 5, section I of the NOMs annex; for which, the importer must only attach to the corresponding import request, the NOM certificate or document established by the NOM itself, in order to demonstrate compliance.

The contingency period begins on July 11 and ends on July 18 of the current year.

The above decision was taken because some importers have reported issues with the validation system of Customs-Standards, when presenting NOM compliance certificates, now it will only be necessary to present the certificate in customs to demonstrate compliance and it will no longer be necessary during the following 7 days, to validate the information with the SAT system.
