The Mexican Economy Secretary has created the working group for the revision of NOM-019-SCFI-1998 draft, which is currently analyzing the changes that this law will have.
It is still uncertain when the changes will be applicable but once it is published as a definitive Law, the current NOM-019-SCFI-1998 (Data processing devices) and NOM-016-SCFI-1993 (Electronic devices – Electronic devices for office usage) will be void. The certificates issued under these NOM’s, prior to the enactment of this new law will be valid until their expiration date.
