On July 2016, the Mexican Federal Telecommunications Institute (IFT) published on its website the draft of the “Technical disposition IFT-011-2016: Specifications of the mobile terminal equipments that use the radio electrical spectrum and that can be connected to public telecommunications networks”. The objective is to establish the specifications of the International Mobile Equipment Identifier (IMEI), and the non-blocking functionality of the Modulated Frequency (FM) receptor in these equipments. It also establish the test methods to prove the compliance with the new specifications and requirements. All the interested parties can send their comments to the institute until the close date of August 25, 2016.
