MEXICO: IFT Publishes Technical Specification Draft for Mobile Terminal Equipment

On July 13, 2018, the Federal Institute of Telecommunications of Mexico (IFT), issued a draft of the Mexican official standard PROY-NOM-221/2-SCFI-2018 that established the Technical specifications for mobile terminal equipment operating in the 700 MHz, 800 MHz, 850 MHz, 1900 MHz, 1700 MHz / 2100 MHz and / or 2500 MHz bands, or that are connected to networks of telecommunications.

Part 2. Devices from this category that wish to be imported, marketed or distributed within the Mexican territory, must comply with the technical arrangement IFT-011-20. The evaluation of compliance should be conducted by accredited persons approved by the Ministry of Economy, and also authorized by the IFT; both institutes will be the authorities responsible for monitoring the implementation of this project.

The parties interested in submitting comments to this regulation can do it during the following 60 days after its publication. This document will enter into force 60 days after its publication.
