On February 26th, IFT has published in the Official Gazette the Technical Disposition IFT-012-2019: Technical specifications for compliance on the maximum limits of non-ionizing radioelectric emissions of products, equipment or devices intended for telecommunications that may be connected to a telecommunications network and / or make use of the radio spectrum. Specific Absorption Index (SAR). The main objective of this technical provision is to ensure that the products used near the head (particularly near the ear) in the frequency range of 300 MHz to 6 GHz, and the ones used at a distance less or equal to 200 mm from the human body in the frequency range of 30 MHz to 6 GHz, comply with the basic exposure limits of non-ionizing radio emissions described in the Table 1 of the Technical Provision.
This Technical Provision coincides with the following International Standards: I. IEC 62209-1 II. IEC 62209-2 III. International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection, ¨Guidelines for limiting exposure to time-varying electric, magnetic and electromagnetic fields (up to 300 GHz)¨. HEALTH PHYSICS 74 (4): 494-522. 1988. It differs in the frequency range considered for the maximum radio-frequency electromagnetic radiation limits of the products, equipment, devices or devices in telecommunications matters used by the ICNIRP. This Technical Provision shall enter into force three hundred and sixty-five calendar days from its publication in the Official Gazette. The products could be certified under this technical Provision once the Institute authorizes the first Test Laboratory and Certification Body.
