MEXICO: IFT New Technical Disposition IFT 011-2017 Part 2

Back

The Federal Telecommunications Institute (IFT) of Mexico released a public consultation on December 3, 2017 and the goal of which was to modify technical disposition IFT-011-2017.

The main modification being proposed by IFT is to include a second part for the IFT-011-2017. This second part is oriented to the 700 MHz band where they indicate it must be enabled to be used for telephony and internet for remote areas of the country.

Additionally, as of April 3, 2018, when this norm becomes effective, for the homologation of cellular equipment, a laboratory test is added for the 700 MHz, 800 MHz, 850 MHz, 1900 MHz, 1700 MHz, 2100 MHz, and 2500 MHz bands to verify that it is fulfilling the stipulated for the cellular bands in Mexico.
