MEXICO: IFT Issues First Accreditation to CB for Technical Disposition IFT-012-2019

Back

Initially published on February 26th, 2020, the Technical Disposition (TD) IFT-012-2019 established the parameters for EMF exposure and after the official entry into force of the standard (February 26th, 2021). ANCE (Asociación de Normalización y Certificación, A.C.) has become the first Accreditation Body to be able to perform conformity assessment to IFT-012-2019. This implies that from now on, SAR can be tested and
certified for the applicable devices that must assure compliance with this standard.

The main objective of this technical provision is to ensure that the products used near the head (particularly near the ear) in the frequency range of 300 MHz to 6 GHz, and the ones used at a distance less or equal to 200 mm from the human body in the frequency range of 30 MHz to 6 GHz, comply with the basic exposure limits of non-ionizing radio emissions described in Table 1 of the Technical Provision. In the same way, this standard follows the IEC 62209-1 and IEC 62209-2 as an international reference. However, only one local lab and one local certification body are accredited in their regulatory framework.
