MEXICO: IFT Homologation Guidelines Regarding Submission and IFT Approval Code

Back

IFT has published additional Guidelines related to the new PEC 2022 now to be in force after June 27th.

From June 27th and while IFT finishes the implementation of the electronic window, the initial electronic way that will be used for submissions and Homologation procedures will be through the official email: oficialiadepartes@ift.org.mx and using the eFormat attached.

Also, these guidelines came to align how to perform the submissions of Homologations requests which will be done electronically, and have updated the methodology of IFT number creation, since now it will be possible to obtain the IFT homologation number in advance once we obtain the submission reference number. In this way, it’s not needed to wait until obtaining the final certificate.

The two first characters would correspond to the two first letters from the main certificate owner, then the second two would refer to the brand, then to the first two letters from the main model name, followed by the two last digits from the year, a dash, and the final digits would correspond to the submission reference number.

Just reinforcing this will be only applicable to the Submissions done after June 27th, under the new PEC 2022.

Type Approval impacted: Regulatory framework in general with relevant updates for the process mostly about submission and labeling.
Spectrum Impacted:  No
Imports Impacted: Yes
Standards Impacted: No
Product Impact: Telecom Equipment, Radio Equipment, Broadcasting Equipment, ISM
