On November 11, 2016, the Instituto Federal de Telecomunicaciones (IFT) published on it’s website, an official approval for NOM-196-SCFI-2016. This norm states that all Wired Terminal Equipment connected to public networks or that will be manufactured, imported, commercialized or to be used for personal use on Mexican territory must comply with the requirements and technical parameters that are stated on the technical disposition IFT-004-2016. This norm does not replace and is not equivalent to any international norm.
