MEXICO: IFT Announces Public Consultation for IFT-007-2016 and IFT-012-2016

On December 12, 2016, Mexican regulator, Instituto Federal de Telecomunicaciones (IFT) published on its website a public consultation related to the Technical Provision IFT-007-2016, which limits a maximum exposure for humans to non-ionizing radio-frequency electromagnetic radiation in the range of 100 kHz to 300 GHz in the radio communication environment. The proposed draft and technical provision, IFT-012-2016, reviews technical specifications for compliance with maximum limits of non-ionizing radiation of products, equipment, devices or apparatus for telecommunications that can be connected to a telecommunications network and make use of the radio electric spectrum.

The Institute will receive comments, opinions and contributions on the content of the Preliminary Project through the Institute’s Internet Portal (http://www.ift.org.mx/).

The validity of this public consultation will be:

IFT-007-2016: December 13 to January 23, 2017 (20 business days).
IFT-012-2016: December 13 to February 20, 2017 (40 business days).
